The next five years

What is actually on the road map?

US 377 already connects Fort Worth, Cresson, Granbury and the route toward Stephenville. The next chapter is a series of improvements—not one verified, fully funded five-year buildout.

Substantially complete: Cresson's bypass

TxDOT lists substantial completion in November 2024. The Bob Cornett Parkway designation followed in September 2025.

Late 2026–2027: Granbury's next phase

The regional transportation program lists a November 2026 estimated start for work from Overstreet Boulevard to Pirate Drive. Granbury's update anticipates 2027 groundbreaking. The phase includes four-lane reconstruction and the SH 144 interchange; it is not completion of the entire wider six-lane concept.

FY2029: Benbrook improvements programmed

Turn-lane and signal improvements at US 377 / RM 2871 are in the regional program. The programming year does not guarantee an opening, and detailed schedules extend beyond 2031.

No confirmed completion date was found for a continuous Fort Worth–Stephenville upgrade by 2031. Dates are programmed or announced estimates unless identified as completed.
